Guard Corps Details The Human Cost Of The War

The open letter gives a grim count of casualties so far. It states: “As of now, the war has claimed the lives of more than 3.6 thousand people, most of them civilians, including 400 children. Eight universities, three hospitals and eight schools were bombed.” This message was addressed directly to the citizens of the United States.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Cites An Even Higher Toll

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi gave a different, higher figure. He spoke in New York during the UN General Assembly on September 25. He said Israeli and US strikes had killed more than 5,000 people inside Iran.

Guard Corps Claims Victory Over Washington And Israel

The open letter was released by the military’s press office. In it, the IRGC also claims that the US and Israel lost the war. Iran, it says, came out as the winner.

Spokesman Denies Any Iranian Nuclear Weapons Program

IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebi spoke to reporters about the letter. He said claims that Iran tried to build nuclear weapons are false.

He noted that the US made a similar warning 25 years ago. Back then, Washington said Iran was only weeks from a bomb. He then asked: “So where (is the nuclear weapon – ed.)?”

He also pointed out that the US killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Khamenei had personally banned nuclear weapons inside the country.

Spokesman Urges A Shift In US Foreign Policy

Mohebi went further, criticizing Washington’s approach to foreign nations. He said: “If the ruling elite in the US spent even 10% of its budget helping different nations instead of attacking them, people would love them. Isn’t it time for US leadership to change its policy?”

How The Iran-US Conflict Started And Where It Stands

The US and Israel began striking targets inside Iran on February 28. Iran responded with strikes of its own. Tehran and Washington signed a ceasefire memorandum in mid-June. Both sides later exchanged strikes again despite the agreement. The conflict remains unresolved to this day.
