Stock Market Today: Market Bounces Back After Weak Start! Sensex Jumps 275 Points, Nifty Crosses 25,973

The Indian stock market faced a slow start on Wednesday, November 26, the week’s third trading session. However, the market quickly recovered to trade in the green, with the Sensex surging by nearly 275 points.

Stock Market Today Performance

The Indian stock market began on a sluggish note during the third trading session of the week on Wednesday, November 26. However, trading sentiments shifted quickly, and the market moved into the green zone. Initially, the benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened in the red. The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened lower by 83.57 points or 0.10 percent at 84,503.44. Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 slipped by 41.85 points or 0.16 percent to open at the 25,842.95 level.

Rapid Morning Recovery

By around 9:25 AM, the market showed a strong recovery trend. The Sensex was trading higher by 250 points, reaching 84,837. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 jumped 83 points to trade comfortably at the 25,968 level.

Top Gainers and Losers on BSE

Looking at the BSE basket, the top gainers included Trent, Tata Steel, Adani Port, and Reliance. On the other hand, the top losers listed were Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, and TCS.

Recap of Tuesday’s Session

On Tuesday, November 25, the Indian stock market witnessed a significant drop. Both key benchmark indices closed the day in the red. The Sensex fell by 313.70 points or 0.37 percent to end at 84,587.01. The NSE Nifty 50 also recorded a decline of 74.70 points or 0.29 percent, closing the session at 25,884.80.

Previous Day Sector Performance

From the BSE basket, SBIN, Tata Steel, Eternal, and Bharti Airtel emerged as the top gainers yesterday. In contrast, the top losers included Trent, PowerGrid, HDFC Bank, and HCL Tech. Indices like Nifty Bank, Nifty IT, Nifty 100, Nifty Auto, and Nifty FMCG closed in the red. However, Nifty Smallcap 100 and Midcap 100 shares saw some buying interest. On Tuesday, 7 shares closed in the green while 23 shares recorded a decline in the BSE basket.
