They will receive an ex-gratia amount of two lakh rupees.
Stampede Details and Casualties
Officials confirmed the stampede. It happened around 11:30 am. The location was the Venkateswara Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam. At least 10 people died in the tragic event. Several other people also suffered injuries. Most of the deceased were women devotees.
President Murmu’s Message

Prime Minister Modi also wrote on ‘X’. He stated he was “pained” by the Srikakulam temple stampede. He offered “condolences to those who lost their near ones.” He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
Ex-Gratia Announced by PMO
The PMO released an official statement. It announced relief from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. Families who lost loved ones will get ₹2 lakh each. The PMO also stated that the injured people will receive ₹50,000 each.
CM Naidu Issues Directives
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu mourned the loss. He posted his sorrow on ‘X’. He said he was “deeply pained” by the stampede. The incident was at the Kasibugga Venkateswara Temple. He called it a “very unfortunate incident.” He offered his deep condolences to the affected families. The Chief Minister directed officials for better treatment. They must ensure the best care for the injured. Naidu also asked officials and local leaders for relief work. They must monitor relief efforts at the stampede site.
