Oil Flows Return to the Key Saudi Route

The kingdom has started sending oil to foreign buyers again. Sources say the East West pipeline is back in use for these deliveries. The restart ends a pause that began after the attacks.

How the Pipeline Was Hit

Several strikes hit the East West pipeline on September 11. Oil flows through the Saudi line stopped after that. The Saudi Foreign Ministry later gave its own account of the attacks. It said drones launched from Iraq carried out the strikes.

Bloomberg described the restart in its latest publication. The report also covered the recent testing of the line.

“Saudi Arabia has begun exporting oil via a key… pipeline… The state company Saudi Aramco tested the operation of the East West pipeline last week,” the publication says.
