Reporters asked Trump whether he still considers a major escalation against Iran as a live option. His response was direct and unambiguous.
“We absolutely have that ability, if we want to do it,” Trump told journalists.
The statement signals that Washington is keeping all options open. It comes as tensions between the US and Iran remain dangerously high. Trump did not provide further details about what such an escalation might look like.
The US has also firmly ruled out paying any compensation to Iran. That stance adds another layer of friction to the already strained relationship between the two nations.
Trump’s latest remarks point to a deliberate strategy of maintaining pressure on Tehran. Washington appears unwilling to de-escalate unless its conditions are met. The possibility of a major military or diplomatic escalation against Iran remains firmly on the table.
