Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has sent a blunt warning to his country’s rivals. His Khamenei Strait of Hormuz message says hostile forces will not dare to invade the strait or the Persian Gulf. He adds that the Arabian Sea will soon be cleared of them too.
Two Seas Once Sheltered Enemy Forces
Khamenei said the two seas south of Iran once gave shelter to enemy forces. He credited the fighters who defend the Strait of Hormuz for changing that. His full words are below.
“Two seas to the south of Iran were a haven for enemy forces, but today, because of the painful blows dealt to them by the brave warriors and defenders of the Strait of Hormuz, they cannot advance beyond the Arabian Sea. Every time they took this risk, they harmed themselves. Soon the Arabian Sea will be cleared of them too.”

Message Posted on the Leader’s Telegram Channel
The message appeared on the Iranian leader’s Telegram channel. In it, Khamenei voiced hope for victory for Iran and its allies. He also hoped that its enemies would face defeat.
Khamenei Strait of Hormuz Message Follows New Escalation
In mid June, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum. It aimed to start the process of reaching a peace agreement. Three weeks later, a new round of escalation began. Washington accused Tehran of firing on commercial ships in Hormuz. After that, the two sides resumed trading strikes. The Khamenei Strait of Hormuz statement comes at a time when ships cannot pass freely through the strait.
