Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet decided whether he will attend the G20 summit in the United States. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed this update on Monday.
“Not yet,” Peskov told RTVI. He was responding to a question about whether Putin had accepted the American invitation to the G20 summit.
Washington Extended the Invitation
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier said that Washington had invited Putin to attend the G20 summit in the United States. The invitation came as part of ongoing diplomatic contact between the two nations.
Peskov also spoke to RIA Novosti on the matter. He said Russia is thankful and appreciates the invitation. He added that the offer will be carefully reviewed by Moscow before any final decision is made.

Diplomatic exchanges between Russia and the United States have continued in the lead up to the summit. Russia’s G20 sherpa is also set to take part in a third sherpa meeting in Washington this week, reflecting continued engagement ahead of the event.
