Union Minister’s Three-Day Visit Aims to Strengthen Strategic Economic Partnership with Israel

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set for a three-day official visit to Israel. The trip runs from November 20 to 22, 2025. He accepted an invitation from Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat. The Commerce Ministry, Government of India, released this information on Wednesday. This visit aims to strengthen the growing strategic and economic partnership. A 60-member business delegation will accompany Mr. Goyal. This group represents CII, FICCI, Assocham, and Start-up India. It highlights the increased industry engagement between both countries.
Focus on Trade, Technology, and FTA Review
Mr. Goyal plans high-level bilateral meetings with senior Israeli leaders. These include Mr. Barkat and other key ministers. Discussions will focus on boosting trade and investment ties. They will also expand cooperation in several sectors. These areas include agriculture, water, defence, and emerging technologies. Life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure are also key. Both nations expect to review the progress of the proposed India-Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Key Business Forums and Engagements
During his trip, Mr. Goyal will address the India-Israel Business Forum. This event will gather top business associations and industry representatives. The program features plenary sessions and B2B engagements. Technical discussions are also part of the agenda. The goal is to promote investments and explore joint venture opportunities. Commercial linkages will also be expanded. The fourth edition of the CEOs Forum is also scheduled.
Interactions with Innovators and Indian Diaspora
The Minister will meet senior executives from major Israeli companies. These firms work in fields like desalination, cyber security, and smart mobility. Waste-water treatment and infrastructure are also included. He will also interact with prominent Israeli investors. Mr. Goyal’s schedule involves visiting key innovation hubs in Tel Aviv. This will offer insights into Israel’s technology ecosystem. Interactions with the Indian diaspora are also planned. This includes meeting Indian-origin business leaders.
