ZTE introduced the Nubia Air globally on Friday at IFA 2025 in Berlin, marking its entry into the ultra-slim smartphone category. Competing with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, the Nubia Air flaunts a remarkably thin 5.9mm body. It offers a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant visuals. The smartphone runs on a Unisoc T8300 chipset and includes 256GB internal storage for ample data management. It also boasts IP68 + IP69 + IP69K certifications, ensuring high resistance to dust and water.

The Nubia Air is priced at $279, approximately Rs. 24,600, and is available in a single 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. European consumers can purchase it starting this month, while availability in Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and other regions will follow later this year.

The device features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with 2,720×1,224 pixels, a 440ppi pixel density, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The display supports the full DCI-P3 color gamut and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Weighing just 172g, the phone combines ultra-slim design with robust IP68 + IP69 + IP69K dust and water resistance.

Performance-wise, the Nubia Air integrates a Unisoc T8300 processor with 8GB RAM, expandable virtually by up to 12GB, and 256GB onboard storage. Its AI Performance Engine optimizes CPU usage, freezes rarely used apps, and improves battery efficiency by around 20 percent.

Photography capabilities include a triple rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with electronic image stabilization (EIS). Selfie enthusiasts get a 20-megapixel front camera. The handset supports Video Anti-Shake, AI Super Night, AI HDR, and a dedicated VLOG mode. Additional AI-powered editing tools such as Magic Editor and Magic Eraser enhance photo and video outputs.

For productivity, the Nubia Air features AI Real-time Translate for phone calls and AI Conversation Translate for face-to-face interactions. It also includes AI Noise Cancellation with AI Echo Cancellation 3.0 for superior call clarity.

Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery, though ZTE has yet to disclose charging speed specifics.
