Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra could get an update to Android 16-based Samsung One UI 8 on September 18, according to a tipster.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 lineup is expected to be among the first smartphones to receive the One UI 8 update based on Android 16. The company has been testing the Android 16-powered One UI 8 beta on multiple devices but has not yet launched a stable version for any. Although Samsung has not confirmed the official release schedule, a recent leak provides an idea of when users might expect the update. Select tablets, including the Galaxy Tab S10+, Tab S10 Ultra, and certain Galaxy Watch 6 series models, could also receive the new software soon. Meanwhile, newer foldable devices such as the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series already come preloaded with One UI 8.
Tipster Alfatürk on X revealed the rumored timeline for the Android 16-based One UI 8 rollout. Samsung may begin with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra on September 18. The Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to follow on September 25.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy S24 could join the rollout alongside the Galaxy S25 Edge on September 25. Devices including the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S21 FE 5G may receive One UI 8 on October 2. The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are expected to be updated on October 6.

Owners of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip could get the update on October 2, with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 following on October 6. The 2024 foldable models, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, are likely to receive One UI 8 on October 13.

Rugged phones including Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro might get the update on October 23, while the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro may receive it later on November 10.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G and Tab Active 5 could get it on October 16, the Tab A9 on November 5, and the Tab Active 5 Pro 5G may be last on November 7.
Samsung Galaxy Watch One UI 8 Watch Update Timeline
The One UI 8 Watch update may roll out starting October 1 for Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Older watches like Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch 4, and Watch 4 Classic may get it on November 3.
