Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Jump by ₹111 on New Year’s Day

Oil Marketing Companies increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders across the country. The new rates are effective from January 1, 2026. This significant ₹111 hike is implemented in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

New Rates Hit Businesses Hard

The year 2026 started with a major inflation shock for the general public. Oil Marketing Companies raised LPG cylinder prices on the very first day. The cost for a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder rose by up to ₹111 nationwide from January 1, 2026. This price increase affects major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. However, there is some relief; the price of the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged for now.

New Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Effective January 1

Oil Marketing Companies announced the new rates for the commercial LPG cylinder from January 1, 2026. This sudden price increase is expected to directly impact small businesses, restaurants, and hotels.

City-wise Price Changes: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai

According to the new tariff, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost ₹1691.50, up from ₹1580.50. In Kolkata, the price has climbed from ₹1684 to ₹1795. Mumbai saw its cylinder price increase from ₹1531.50 to ₹1642.50. Meanwhile, Chennai’s price jumped from ₹1739.50 to ₹1849.50.

Commercial Cylinder Saw Price Cuts in December and November

It is noteworthy that the commercial LPG cylinder prices were previously reduced on December 1, 2025. During that time, there was a relief of ₹10 in Delhi and Kolkata. Mumbai and Chennai received a price cut of up to ₹11. Furthermore, commercial LPG cylinder prices were also lowered on November 1, 2025. At that time, the price in Delhi was cut from ₹1595.50 to ₹1590. Kolkata’s price dropped from ₹1700.50 to ₹1694. Mumbai saw a decrease from ₹1547 to ₹1542. Chennai’s price was reduced from ₹1754.50 to ₹1750.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Stable

While commercial LPG cylinder rates see continuous fluctuation, domestic gas cylinder prices have remained steady for a long period. The rates for the 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder are maintained at their April 2025 level.

Current Domestic Cylinder Prices in Your City

Currently, the domestic LPG cylinder sells for ₹853 in Delhi. It costs ₹879 in Kolkata and ₹852 in Mumbai. In Chennai, the price is ₹868. This New Year hike in commercial cylinder prices raises fears of higher costs for food and other services.
