The digital census drive launched on May 1 across Maharashtra- lets every citizen fill in their own household details online in just two minutes, and District Collector Dr. Pravinkumar Devre is personally leading by example.

Digital Census Drive Goes Live Across Buldhana District
Self-enumeration campaign has officially kicked off in Buldhana district and every citizen has until May 15 to take part. The exercise, launched on May 1, marks a major shift in how India counts its people. This time, the entire process runs on a fully digital platform, giving residents the power to record their own information themselves.
District Collector Dr. Pravinkumar Devre has urged all district residents to actively join this nationwide mission. He stressed that participation is simple, fast, and open to everyone with a mobile phone.
How to Complete Your Self-Enumeration: Step by Step
Citizens must visit the official government portal se.census.gov.in to begin registration. The process starts with entering a valid mobile number. After that, residents answer approximately 30 straightforward questions covering personal and family details.
Once all questions are answered, the system generates a unique SE-ID or Self-Enumeration ID. Every citizen must save this ID carefully. When government-appointed enumerators visit homes from May 16 onward, this SE-ID becomes the key reference document for verification.
Collector Devre Leads by Example: Done in Two Minutes
Dr. Pravinkumar Devre completed his own self-enumeration to demonstrate how quick and painless the process is. The entire task took him just two minutes. He called upon every resident young and old to set aside a couple of minutes and contribute to this important national exercise.
Enumerators to Begin Door-to-Door Visits from May 16
Once the self-registration window closes on May 15, the next phase begins immediately. From May 16, trained enumerators appointed by the administration will go door-to-door across the district. Their job to verify the details that citizens have already submitted online.
This digital-first approach saves valuable time for both residents and officials. It also makes the entire census process far more transparent and streamlined than ever before. Citizens who complete self-enumeration early help speed up the verification stage significantly.
The administration has strongly encouraged every household to register before the May 15 deadline and to keep their SE-ID safely stored for the enumerator’s visit.
