Speed Up The Governance

Modi’s first message to his ministers was direct stop letting files gather dust. He pushed hard for faster decision-making and leaner bureaucracy. Every unnecessary delay, he said, costs the country time it cannot afford. He called on ministries to simplify processes, accelerate reforms, and squeeze maximum output from every working hour. The message was clear slow governance is no longer an option.

Focus On Viksit Bharat 2047

The Prime Minister made it plain Viksit Bharat 2047 is not a campaign slogan. It is a commitment. Modi reminded every ministry in the room that this vision must guide their work every single day. Those ministries that had fallen behind on performance evaluations heard a pointed message fix what is broken, improve what is weak, and align every decision with the long-term goal of a developed India by 2047.

Highlight The Achievements Of Last 12 Years

Modi also directed his ministers to step outside their offices. He pushed them to engage with the public to talk, to communicate, and to make sure Indians know what the government has achieved over the past 12 years. The directive signalled a sharp focus on outreach the government wants its record to speak loudly ahead of what many see as a critical political period.

India Feels The Iran War In Its Pocket

The backdrop to Thursday’s meeting was hard to ignore India is hurting economically. The ongoing US-Iran war has triggered a global energy supply crunch. The Strait of Hormuz a critical passage through which a massive share of global oil moves has been disrupted. India, one of the largest importers of oil from West Asia, has already hiked fuel prices twice in recent weeks. Every Indian who fills up a tank or pays an electricity bill is feeling this war’s effects at home.

Modi’s Post-Meeting Message

After the session wrapped up, Modi took to X to reflect on what was discussed. “Had a fruitful meeting of the Council of Ministers yesterday. We exchanged perspectives and best practices relating to boosting ‘Ease of Living,’ ‘Ease of Doing Business,’ and how to further reforms in order to realise our shared dream of a Viksit Bharat,” he posted.

The meeting held at Seva Teerth in New Delhi was widely seen as an important midterm check on government performance. With the Iran war grinding on and global uncertainty rising, Modi’s message to his team on Thursday was simple: work harder, stay focused, and get ready for tougher days ahead.
