TCS Nashik case: Alleged ‘mastermind’ Nida Khan’s bail plea hearing expected today

The Nashik Sessions Court will likely hear the bail plea of Nida Khan today, April 20. She is the alleged ‘mastermind’ in the religious conversion and harassment case at the TCS Nashik center.

The 26-year-old is one of eight people accused in the Nashik BPO case. This legal matter involves alleged sexual harassment and religious pressure. She applied for anticipatory bail this past Saturday.

While seven other accused individuals are already arrested, Khan has not been found. Her family denies she is hiding. TCS Nashik has suspended all eight employees involved, including Nida Khan.

What we know about Nida Khan

Nida Khan joined the Nashik BPO in December 2021. She did not work in the HR department. Instead, she worked as a telecaller and was not a senior staff member.

She grew up and studied in Nashik, earning a commerce degree. She is currently studying for her MBA via correspondence while working.

Khan married last year and moved to Mumbai with her husband. She was working at the BPO’s Malad branch. Her family told the media that Nida is currently pregnant.

Initially, her family thought the case involved another person with a similar name. Since realizing she is the accused, the family has faced significant mental stress.

What is Nida Khan accused of?

Nida Khan is among eight people accused of harassment and religious conversion at the BPO. Police have called Nida Khan the primary planner behind these alleged activities.

Her mother defended her, saying, “My daughter has not done any of these things. She simply went to work every day and got into trouble just for saying hello and goodbye to people.”

Authorities have been searching for her since her name surfaced. Her exact location is still unknown. Police are using technical tracking and field operations to find her.

The police took her husband into custody in Mumbai for questioning. A police statement noted that mobile phones of the accused and her relatives were switched off.

The ongoing investigation

Khan’s husband told police she was at a relative’s house. However, officers found the house locked when they arrived. In her bail plea, she claims she is pregnant.

Her lawyers, Rahul Kasliwal and Baba Sayyed, expect the hearing today. They claim she is falsely implicated and has no criminal record.

TCS Nashik case

Police have filed nine FIRs against eight BPO employees. The issue began when a 23-year-old employee filed a formal complaint.

Nine junior staff members accused senior leaders of abuse and religious coercion. These FIRs were filed in Nashik between March 26 and April 3.
