Congress MP Digvijaya Singh has ignited a fresh controversy. He shared a vintage photo of PM Modi on X (formerly Twitter). The BJP is now aggressively using this post to attack Rahul Gandhi.

Congress Leader Shares PM Modi’s Throwback
Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh has created a new political stir. He targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by sharing a black and white photo from the 1990s. The former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh posted a screenshot from Quora. The image shows senior BJP leader L K Advani attending an event in Gujarat. In the photo, Narendra Modi is clearly visible sitting on the floor near Advani.
Singh Praises RSS-BJP Cadre Structure
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh praised Advani while referring to him. He highlighted how even ground-level workers can rise within the Sangh-BJP framework. He noted that they can even become a Chief Minister or Prime Minister. Posting on X, Singh stated, “I found this picture on the Quora site. It is very impressive.” He added, “This is the strength of this organization. Grassroots RSS volunteers and Jan Sangh workers sit at the feet of leaders. They go on to become state Chief Ministers and the country’s Prime Minister. Jai Siya Ram.”

Details of the Vintage Picture
The picture shared by Digvijaya Singh is an important historical photo from the 1990s. This specific photo depicts Narendra Modi’s political rise in Gujarat. Sources indicate this image was captured in 1996. It was during the swearing-in ceremony of former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela. Top BJP leaders of that era were present at the event.
BJP Launches Attack on Congress
The BJP reacted strongly to Digvijaya Singh’s post. They have launched an attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Party spokesperson CR Kesavan commented on the post. He claimed the statement reveals the Congress’s dictatorial and undemocratic leadership. Kesavan asked, “Will Rahul Gandhi show courage and respond to the shocking truth bomb?” He said Digvijaya Singh’s tweet fully exposes the reality. He claimed the “first family” runs the party ruthlessly and dictatorially. He questioned, “How autocratic and undemocratic is this Congress leadership?”
Singh’s Political Future in Question
Digvijaya Singh’s second Rajya Sabha term is ending in early 2026. A third term nomination seems unlikely for him. Both Kamal Nath and Meenakshi Natarajan are frontrunners for the Rajya Sabha seat. They are considered potential strong contenders. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari and legislative party leader Umang Singar are also seen as Singh’s political adversaries.
