Mahagathbandhan Manifesto: Big Promises on Liquor Ban Review, Toddy, and Mahua Included

The Mahagathbandhan announced they will review the current liquor ban law in Bihar if they form the government.

The Mahagathbandhan released its manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections on Tuesday, October 28. It promises a review of the current liquor ban law in Bihar. A consistent new policy will also be formulated. Dalits and other poor people jailed under this law will get immediate relief. Traditional employment based on toddy and mahua will be exempted from the liquor ban law’s scope.

What Did Tejashwi Yadav Say?

RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM face Tejashwi Yadav posted on X after the manifesto release. He said, “This resolution letter of the India Alliance is a pledge of parties and hearts. Each declaration is a heartfelt pledge; we will fulfill each pledge with all our heart. When a Bihari sets his heart on something, he won’t stop until he achieves it.”

Manifesto for Bihar’s Future – Bihar Congress

Bihar Congress stated the joint manifesto was released today in Patna. It happened with the historic presence of senior Mahagathbandhan leaders. This is not just a document of promises, they said. It is the manifesto for the future of Bihar.

What Else Is in the Mahagathbandhan Manifesto?

  • 200 units of free electricity for every family.
  • Cylinder available for ₹500 to poor families.
  • Problems from the faulty smart meter system will be resolved.
  • Cases filed will also be withdrawn.
  • Announcement to start the Jubba Sahni Award.
  • A strict law will be made for drug control.
  • A special public awareness campaign will be announced.
  • The Waqf Amendment Bill will be stopped.
  • Strict steps will be taken to prevent attacks on religious institutions or places.
  • Monthly pension of ₹3000 for persons with disabilities.
  • Widows and the elderly will receive ₹ 1500 monthly pension.
  • Promise of 5 dismil land for landless and homeless families.
  • 3 dismil land or a concrete house in urban areas is promised.
  • Pledge to increase MNREGA wages to ₹ 300.
  • The Old Pension Scheme (OPS) will be implemented.
  • An Educational City will be built on 2000 acres. This will happen after the Mahagathbandhan forms the government.
  • All contractual and outsourced employees will be made permanent.
