A shocking death that the internet cannot stop talking about

David Wilcock, a 53-year-old author, UFO researcher, filmmaker, and YouTuber, has reportedly passed away. His death came from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Nederland, Colorado. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the incident on Monday, April 20, 2026. Deputies received a 911 call at around 10:44 a.m. The emergency operator suspected the caller was going through a mental health crisis. When officers arrived, they found a man outside a home holding a weapon. Within minutes, the man turned the weapon on himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2022 post that has the internet stunned

No official confirmation has linked the deceased to Wilcock by name. However, his followers and close associates strongly believe it was him. Amid this developing story, a December 2022 post attributed to Wilcock resurfaced rapidly across social media. In it, he wrote: “I plan on LIVING. Not suicidal at all. Just concerned about what happens when you prove God is real.” This old message has now been shared thousands of times. Many users argue that the suicide narrative simply does not match the man they knew.

His final YouTube appearance raised even more questions

Just two days before his alleged death, Wilcock went live on YouTube. He spoke openly about scientists mysteriously disappearing across America. He said, “Every day that I have on earth is a gift and a blessing, and I am very grateful for that.” He also added: “Because frankly, people are disappearing. Scientists are going missing. Now, they’re saying that they’re going to investigate this.” These remarks now feel eerily prophetic to many of his followers.

Friends say he was fighting many personal battles

People close to Wilcock say he had been going through a very difficult period. His divorce from ex-wife Elizabeth Seraphine hit him hard. He had also reportedly been facing death threats, cyberbullying, coordinated online harassment, and Gaia-related legal issues. A long-time supporter wrote on X: “In my heart, I still don’t want to believe it. David was always so energetic and positive about life.” They added that Wilcock had faced stalking, online attacks, and coordinated harassment from critics.

Conspiracy theories and wild speculation flood social media

The internet has not taken this news quietly. Investigative journalist Kerry L. Cassidy claimed on YouTube that Wilcock faked his own death. She wrote on X: “DAVID WILCOCK: My psychic intuition is that David faked his death with the help of the SSP and is fine.” These claims remain entirely unverified. No official body has supported this theory. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is still working to confirm the identity of the deceased through scientific means.

FBI investigation adds another layer to the mystery

The timing of Wilcock’s death has raised serious eyebrows. Authorities have confirmed that the FBI is now investigating the mysterious deaths and disappearances of at least 10 to 11 scientists connected to nuclear, aerospace, and UAP-related programmes. These deaths occurred over the past 33 months. Many were initially ruled as suicides. Republican Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna publicly mourned Wilcock’s passing. She wrote on social media: “We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted.”

What happens next remains deeply uncertain

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has declined to officially name the deceased. The coroner’s office says a formal identification will only be released after scientific confirmation. Until that happens, questions will keep swirling. Wilcock had over 500,000 YouTube subscribers and authored multiple New York Times bestsellers. He appeared frequently on the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens. His work touched millions of people around the world. Whether his death was what it appears to be, or something far more complicated, remains an open and deeply unsettling question.
