Platform Flags Dozens Of Odd Wagers

The American online prediction platform Polymarket is looking into dozens of suspicious bets placed on the outcome of Israel’s parliamentary election. The New York Times reported this, citing a company representative.

New Accounts Backed Netanyahu And Likud

According to the report, the questionable bets came from hundreds of freshly created accounts. Their owners wagered on a win for sitting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party. These bets were placed just before polling stations in Israel closed.

Election Results Remain Unsettled

Israel held its Knesset elections on Tuesday. With 100 percent of votes counted, the ruling coalition led by Netanyahu still holds a lead. However, neither the coalition nor the opposition bloc has secured the parliamentary majority needed to form a government.
