White House Shooting Shakes Washington in the Early Hours

A shocking incident unfolded near the White House in the dead of night on Sunday. A man pulled a weapon from a bag at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 17th Street. He opened fire and Secret Service agents shot back, killing him on the spot. A civilian bystander also suffered a gunshot wound in the exchange.

Trump Speaks Out on Truth Social

President Donald Trump confirmed the shooter’s death through a post on his Truth Social platform. “The shooter was killed after a gunfight with Secret Service agents at the White House gates,” Trump wrote. He also thanked the Secret Service for their swift and decisive action during the dangerous situation.

Secret Service Issues Official Statement

The United States Secret Service confirmed the incident took place around 1:00 AM Moscow time roughly late Saturday night in Washington. Agents responded immediately after the gunman drew his weapon and opened fire near the White House perimeter. The attacker was fatally wounded in the response. One passerby was caught in the crossfire and received an injury, though further details on their condition were not immediately shared.
