Trump Says Election Winners Will Call The Shots

Winners of the upcoming November 3 congressional elections will dominate American politics, President Donald Trump has warned.

“People say it’s just two votes. But given the power they hold in the sense of having a majority those two votes will dominate politics.”

Even A Small Majority Will Matter

The US president urged voters to back Republican candidates. He noted that even a slim edge in Congress would shape the direction the country takes.

“Everyone will have to follow their path.”

Trump stressed that everyone will have to follow that path once the winners are decided.

He also pointed out that even two seats in Congress carry real weight. According to Trump, the Democrats competing for those seats hate America.

What Is At Stake On November 3

Congressional elections will take place on November 3. Americans will choose a new House of Representatives and decide the fate of 35 Senate seats.

A Look At Midterm History

History has not been kind to the party holding the White House during midterms. Since 1946, the sitting president’s party has gained seats only twice, in 1998 and 2002.

The worst defeat came in 2010. Democrats lost 63 House seats and six Senate seats that year, a record blow.
