The Russia-Ukraine war shows no sign of ending soon. Russian missile and drone strikes in Ukraine killed at least 4 people and injured 20 on Saturday night.

Trump’s Stance on Putin Meeting
US President Donald Trump made a major statement regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He said on Saturday (October 25, 2025) he does not plan to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin yet. This is unless he believes an agreement for peace between Russia and Ukraine is ready. The deal must ensure the war can end. This conflict is set to enter its fifth year in February.
It was previously announced that Trump would meet Putin in Budapest. The meeting aimed to advance negotiations for a peace agreement in Ukraine. However, that meeting did not take place. Trump spoke to reporters on Air Force One. He was departing for Asia at the time. He stated, “I must know we are going to make a deal. I will not waste my time.”
Previous Trump-Putin Meeting in Alaska
Trump stated, “I have always had good relations with Vladimir Putin, but this has been very frustrating.” Trump and Putin last met on August 15 in Alaska. Both sides had called that meeting useful. They said it helped in reaching a peace settlement to end Moscow’s war with Ukraine. The Russia-Ukraine war does not appear to be ending quickly. Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine killed at least 4 people. Additionally, 20 people were injured on Saturday night.
Zelenskyy Demands More Sanctions and Missiles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the US on Friday. He asked to expand its sanctions on Russian oil. He requested they go beyond the current two companies to cover the entire sector. He also demanded long-range missiles for a counterattack against Russia. Zelenskyy was in London at the time. He was there for talks with European leaders.
