The BRICS TimesAfter their high-stakes meeting in Beijing, the leaders of the world’s two biggest powers sent a clear message: a nuclear-armed Iran is simply off the table.
Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping wrapped up their summit in Beijing on Thursday with a strong shared stance Iran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. The White House confirmed this after talks between the two leaders concluded.
“Both countries agreed that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons,” the White House said in its official statement following the summit.

Trade, Investment, and Fentanyl Also on the Table
The two leaders covered far more than just Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Trump and Xi discussed deepening economic ties including greater access for American businesses entering Chinese markets. They also talked about boosting Chinese investment into U.S. industries.
The leaders addressed the fentanyl crisis specifically, cracking down on the supply of chemical components used to manufacture the deadly drug. Chinese purchases of American agricultural goods also featured in the wide-ranging discussions.
