US Vice President Reveals Agenda Ahead of Switzerland Talks

US Vice President JD Vance said Washington and Tehran will discuss Iran’s nuclear program and a Lebanon ceasefire during their upcoming talks in Switzerland.

“I hope that we make progress on the nuclear issue, make progress on the Lebanon ceasefire. Those are the two main topics we’ll focus on. I’m sure the Iranians will have issues of their own they want to raise too,” Vance told reporters before leaving Joint Base Andrews.

Delegation Finally Lands After Days of Delay

Vance had earlier called off a planned trip to Switzerland where the first US-Iran meeting was due to happen on June 19, with mediators from Pakistan and Qatar also taking part. On Thursday, Vance said his own departure depended on when Iran’s delegation would travel. Switzerland’s foreign ministry confirmed on Saturday that the Iranian delegation had arrived in the country.
