President Trump announced on Friday an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods, set to begin from November 1.

China Condemns US for Tariff Decision
China has accused the United States of showing “double standards” after President Donald Trump declared a new 100% tariff on its exports.
A spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce called the move “a typical example of double standards” in an official statement released online.
Trump’s Announcement Triggers Response From Beijing
On Friday, Trump said he would impose the extra tariffs from November 1, responding to what he described as “extraordinarily aggressive” Chinese export limits on rare-earth minerals.
He also warned that he might cancel a planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this month.
Beijing Criticizes US Economic Actions
Beijing accused Washington of tightening economic pressure on China since September.
“These actions have severely harmed China’s interests and damaged the environment of economic and trade talks,” said the ministry.
It added, “Threatening high tariffs at every step is not the correct way to engage with China.”
