The US President brushed off G7 allies’ contributions in the Iran conflict, saying America won the war on its own prompting a sharp pushback from Italy’s Foreign Minister.

Trump Dismisses Allied Role in Iran Conflict
Speaking over the phone to Italian television channel La7, US President Donald Trump made a bold claim America needed no outside help to win its conflict with Iran. When asked about the contributions of G7 allies, Trump was blunt and direct.
“We didn’t need any support. We won the war. It didn’t really matter much,” Trump said in the live phone interview.
He wrapped up the call just as quickly as he started it, adding with characteristic confidence his parting words before signing off.
“I have to go I have an important meeting. But we won the war in Iran. We didn’t need their help,” Trump declared.

Italy’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani responded swiftly to Trump’s remarks. Tajani made it clear that Europe’s position was fundamentally different from that of the United States.
Tajani pointed out that Europe was never in a state of war with Iran drawing a clear line between Washington’s direct military role and Europe’s separate standing in the conflict.
