Simulated Operation Against Hostile Forces

In the exercise scenario, mock terrorist groups captured a residential area and held civilians as hostages. Indian and Russian troops joined forces to locate the enemy, conduct reconnaissance, and prevent their escape using armored vehicles. During their movement, soldiers practiced first aid, casualty evacuation, and methods to counter enemy diversion units.

Use of UAVs and Electronic Warfare Systems

A major highlight of the drill was the deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for surveillance and precision strikes. The troops also used advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to disrupt and neutralize hostile drones, enhancing real-time situational awareness.

Ammunition and Logistics Training

The participants underwent hands-on training to deliver ammunition and supplies in active combat zones, focusing on maintaining efficient logistics during battle conditions.

Joint Field Training at Mahajan Range

As per the Russian Ministry of Defense, both nations’ forces conducted tactical shooting and endurance exercises under extreme heat typical of Rajasthan. These drills aimed to enhance inter-unit coordination and strengthen joint combat capabilities in demanding environments.

Live-Fire Drills and Team Coordination

Troops engaged in live-fire sessions, targeting moving threats that mimicked an enemy assault. The exercises focused on improving shooting accuracy, teamwork, and rapid decision-making during high-pressure combat situations.

Assault Course and Tactical Exchange

Participants also completed a rigorous assault course with over ten obstacles, designed to test physical stamina, coordination, and agility. Indian soldiers displayed advanced techniques to tackle complex segments, sharing valuable field experience with their Russian counterparts.

Strengthening Bilateral Military Partnership

According to the MoD Russia, the Indra-2025 drills not only built individual and team-level proficiency but also deepened defense cooperation between India and Russia through an exchange of tactical expertise and real-time learning.
