A senior Iranian lawmaker says Washington’s efforts to corner Iran would create serious trouble for several countries, warning that any fresh round of fighting would be far bigger than before.

Iranian Official Issues Blunt Warning to Washington
Any US attempt to “sink” Iran would end up causing serious problems for many nations, not just Tehran. That’s the warning from Feda Hossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee.
He added that a new round of military confrontation, if it happens, would be far larger in scale than anything seen so far.
US Reportedly Pulling Back Personnel From the Region
This warning comes shortly after reports that the United States has been gradually pulling its military and diplomatic staff out of Middle Eastern countries. Observers say the move echoes what happened at the start of the Iran conflict back in February.
“Iran Will Drag Other Countries Down With It”
Speaking to reporters, the Iranian politician said a fresh military clash with the US would spread well beyond Iran’s own borders and pull in several other nations.
“If they try to corner Iran, to ‘sink’ it, Iran will drag many other countries down with it,” he said.
Iran Admits Economic Strain, But Says the West Isn’t Immune Either
Maleki acknowledged that Iran is currently going through a difficult economic period. At the same time, he pointed out that the United States and Europe are dealing with their own troubles, including in the energy sector.
A Conflict That Refuses to Settle
The US and Israel began striking targets inside Iran on February 28, and Iran responded with strikes of its own. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to halt hostilities, but the two sides later exchanged fire again. The standoff remains unresolved to this day.
