German Woman Caught with Explosives in Southern Russia

Russia’s FSB security service announced on Monday the arrest of a German woman. Officials found a homemade bomb inside her backpack. They claim she was part of a Ukrainian plot. The target was reportedly a law enforcement building in the Stavropol region.

Recruitment by Ukrainian Security Services

The FSB identified the suspect as a woman born in 1969. They claim a Central Asian citizen recruited her. This individual allegedly worked directly for the Ukrainian security services. The arrest took place in the city of Pyatigorsk.

Remote Detonation Plot Thwarted

The agency stated the bomb was designed for remote detonation. This would have likely killed the woman during the act. However, law enforcement used electronic jamming to disable the device. Neither Ukraine nor Germany has commented on these allegations yet.

Accomplice Detained Near Target

A 27-year-old Central Asian man was also arrested. The FSB described him as a “supporter of a radical ideology.” Authorities caught him near the specific building marked for the attack. He reportedly coordinated the plot with the German woman.
