The BRICS TimesXiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 17 lineup in China, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, massive batteries, and new secondary rear displays on Pro models. The series starts at 4,499 Yuan.
Xiaomi has rolled out its brand-new flagship smartphone range in China, unveiling the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. These handsets bring Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and also feature exciting design upgrades. The Pro models now include secondary rear displays, making the lineup stand out. Along with premium internals, the series comes with large batteries, fast charging options, and an IP68 water-resistant build.
Price
The Xiaomi 17 is priced from 4,499 Yuan (around Rs 56,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The Xiaomi 17 Pro comes in at about 5,000 Yuan (roughly Rs 62,000), while the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max starts at 6,000 Yuan (close to Rs 74,000). At the moment, these devices are limited to the Chinese market, with no official confirmation about a global or Indian launch.
Features
The standard Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color, and up to 3,500 nits brightness. Powering the device is a huge 7,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. On the camera side, it carries a 50MP triple rear system developed with Leica, paired with a 50MP front sensor.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro steps up with a 2.7-inch secondary screen on the back, giving users the ability to snap selfies using the main cameras, control music playback, or view notifications. It runs on a 6,300mAh battery and gets advanced Leica optics, including a periscope telephoto lens with 5x zoom and a new Time-of-Flight sensor for improved depth detection.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is the biggest in the lineup, featuring a 6.9-inch primary display and a slightly larger 2.9-inch rear screen. It is fueled by a 7,500mAh battery and introduces an upgraded telephoto camera with a bigger sensor and wider aperture. Both Pro devices offer 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Water protection is also enhanced, with the Pro model handling depths up to 4 meters and the Pro Max up to 6 meters.
