Union Home Minister Amit Shah affirmed on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, that the Modi administration will continue its efforts until all Maoists—commonly referred to as Naxalites—have either surrendered, been captured, or been neutralized.

During an event honoring the CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), and CoBRA personnel involved in the successful execution of ‘Operation Black Forest’ on Karregutta hill in Chhattisgarh, Shah emphasized the government’s dedication, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, to eradicating Naxalism from India.

He reiterated, “The Modi government will not pause until every Naxalite has either laid down arms, been arrested, or taken out of action.”

Shah described the bravery and resolve demonstrated by the jawans throughout Operation Black Forest as a landmark achievement that would be celebrated as a golden era in the timeline of counter-Naxal initiatives.

Despite extreme heat, challenging terrain, and the persistent danger of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the security forces executed the mission with unwavering determination and effectively dismantled a significant Naxal base camp, he noted.

The well-established material storage and supply network maintained by the Naxalites on Karregutta hill were courageously dismantled by units of the Chhattisgarh Police, CRPF, DRG, and CoBRA, Shah added.

The Home Minister also highlighted the extensive harm caused by Maoist activities in some of the nation’s most underdeveloped areas, where they have disrupted educational and medical services and impeded the implementation of government welfare programs.

Ongoing counter-Naxal operations have ushered in a “new dawn” for approximately 6.5 crore residents across the corridor from Pashupatinath to Tirupati, according to Shah.

Furthermore, he assured that the Modi government is taking comprehensive measures to assist security personnel who sustained serious injuries during these operations, making certain that their quality of life is improved.

The government remains steadfast in its goal to rid the country of Naxalism by March 31, 2026, Shah concluded.

The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.
