Closed Sugar Mills in Bihar Will Reopen; Nitish Cabinet Approves Six Key Agendas

First Cabinet Meeting Focuses on Employment

The first meeting of the Nitish cabinet took place today (Tuesday) after the new government formed in Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired this meeting where six agendas received official approval. The meeting placed a significant focus on employment generation. Several important agendas were passed keeping the public interest in mind. Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit shared information about these decisions after the cabinet meeting ended.

Total 25 Sugar Mills Will Operate in Bihar

A major decision regarding sugar mills was taken during this first cabinet meeting. It was decided that closed sugar mills in Bihar will be restarted soon. Additionally, the government will establish new sugar mills in the state. Currently, there are 9 closed sugar mills in Bihar. Now, the government has decided to open a total of 25 sugar mills (including closed ones). The cabinet has given its formal approval for this initiative.

Plans for Urban Development and Technology Hub

On the other hand, 11 new satellite/greenfield townships will be built for planned urban development. Bihar will be developed as a new technology hub in Eastern India. For this, a defense corridor and a semiconductor manufacturing park will be established. A Global Capability Center, Mega Tech City, and Fintech City will also be set up in the state.

Committee for Global Opportunities and AI

A high-level committee will be formed to make Bihar a Global Workplace. This plan aims to provide national and international opportunities to the talented youth of the state. Apart from this, the government decided to form another special committee to promote Artificial Intelligence.

Assembly Session Starts December 1st

The assembly session will also commence following the formation of the new government. The Bihar Legislative Assembly session will be organized from December 1 to December 5. During this time, all newly elected MLAs will take their oath. The election of the Assembly Speaker will also take place.
