Russian President Vladimir Putin’s arrival for a two-day visit in India saw his flight become the world’s most monitored aircraft on Flightradar24.

Putin’s Arrival Creates Flight Tracking Record

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Delhi on Thursday evening. His flight instantly became the most tracked worldwide. This information came directly from Flight Radar 24. Putin is in India for the 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him at Palam Airport.

Global Attention on the Russian Government Jet

Flightradar, a service tracking air traffic in real time, confirmed the huge interest. They posted on X about their most tracked flight. It was the Russian government aircraft flying to India. Follow for live updates on Putin in India. Flightradar also shared a screenshot of the tracking data. This showed about 1,772 people were actively monitoring the flight status. They simply stated, “Our most tracked flight now.” Flightradar24 is a global service. It lets users track aircraft all over the world live.

Warm Welcome and Bilateral Agenda

The Russian President got a very warm welcome. This was his first visit after a four-year gap. PM Modi greeted Putin with a personal hug. The two leaders then left the airport together in the same car. Next, PM Modi and Putin headed to Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. The Prime Minister is hosting a private dinner there. On Friday, Putin will meet PM Modi at the Hyderabad House. This venue will host the 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit. Discussions will likely focus on strengthening defence ties. Trade and energy cooperation are also key points.

Comments on Energy and Traffic Advisory

Putin commented on Thursday regarding fuel purchases. He questioned why India should not have the same privilege to buy Russian fuel “if the United States has the right.” Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory for Friday. They announced major restrictions across Delhi. This was due to the Modi-Putin meeting. Commuters were asked to avoid key routes. These avoidance times were between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon. Putin last visited India in 2021. Modi visited Moscow last year. The leaders met briefly in China in September. That meeting was during a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
