Bihar Cabinet Buzz: Up to 20 Ministers to Take Oath; Woman Deputy CM Also Possible

Upendra Kushwaha’s wife, Snehlata, from Rashtriya Lok Morcha, may become a Minister. Santosh, National President of Hindustani Awam Morcha, is likely to be reappointed as a Minister.

The oath-taking ceremony for the new government in Bihar is scheduled for tomorrow (November 20, 2025). The event will happen at 11:30 am at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Sources suggest Chief Minister Nitish Kumar might induct 20 ministers. The race for Deputy CM includes BJP leaders Samrat Chaudhary, Mangal Pandey, and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Vijay Sinha is also being considered for the Speaker’s post.

Potential Ministers from the BJP Camp

Nitin Nabin, Shreyasi Singh, and Rama Nishad are among those named for BJP Minister slots. The state could see one or two Deputy CMs. Significantly, a woman might also be made Deputy CM. This possibility is currently under discussion. Previously, Renu Devi from the BJP served as the Deputy Chief Minister in Bihar.

Who Will Be Minister from JDU Quota?

Sources indicate that several veteran JDU ministers may be retained. Their names include Bijendra Yadav, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Jama Khan, Shrawan Kumar, Lesi Singh, Ratnesh Sada, and Madan Sahani. New faces from the JDU could include state president Umesh Kushwaha and Kaladhar Mandal, who may be appointed as ministers.

Other Key Alliances and Deputy CM Contenders

On the other hand, Snehlata, wife of Upendra Kushwaha from Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), may take the oath as a Minister. Santosh, the National President of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), who is currently a Minister, is likely to be reappointed.

Old BJP ministers who may be repeated include Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Mangal Pandey, Nitin Nabin, Nitish Mishra, Renu Devi, and Janak Ram. Regarding new faces, Shreyasi Singh and Rama Nishad could be appointed as ministers. Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal is also in the Deputy CM race. Vijay Kumar Sinha is a frontrunner for Deputy CM, Speaker, and State President positions. Ram Kripal Yadav might also be made Speaker or a Minister. Prem Kumar is another contender for the Speaker post.
