Coordination for New Date Underway as Israel Highlights ‘Strong Bond’ Between PMs

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office issued a clarification on Tuesday. The statement confirmed that coordination for a new visit date to India is already happening. This follows reports that his planned visit had been postponed.
The Israeli PM’s office emphasized the “strong bond” between Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They shared this message in a post on X. The post read, “Israel’s bond with India and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very strong.” Furthermore, the statement added, “The PM has full confidence in India’s security under PM Modi. Teams are already coordinating a new visit date.”
Netanyahu’s Visit to India
This clarification came after Israeli media reports circulated. These reports claimed Netanyahu postponed his visit, which was expected by the end of this year. However, sources in Delhi informed HT that the visit was neither officially finalized nor announced. The Israeli Prime Minister last visited India in 2018. This marked the second visit by an Israeli PM to India. It followed PM Modi’s trip to Israel by roughly six months in 2017.
Piyush Goyal Meets Netanyahu in Israel
Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal recently traveled to Israel. During his visit, he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A press release stated that Goyal conveyed PM Modi’s warm wishes to Netanyahu. Goyal also updated him on discussions with Israeli Minister Nir Barkat. He shared the outcomes of the Business Forum and the CEOs Forum.
Netanyahu posted on X, mentioning the meeting. “I met today in Jerusalem with India’s Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal. Israel and India are strengthening our strategic partnership, more investments, more innovation, and a strong economic corridor from India through Israel to Europe. Together we are building economic power,” he wrote.
