Egypt’s President has invited PM Modi to attend the signing ceremony of the Gaza peace deal, where he might meet Donald Trump. It remains unclear whether the Prime Minister will travel to Egypt.

Invitation from Egypt
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the signing event of the Gaza peace agreement. The summit is scheduled in Sharm El Sheikh, a famous resort city known for hosting international conferences. Around 20 global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, are expected to participate.
India’s Representation
India has already decided that Minister of State for External Affairs of India Kirti Vardhan Singh will represent the country at the summit. It is still uncertain whether PM Modi will personally attend the event in Egypt.
India’s Role in Peace Efforts
India has consistently supported peace and moderation. Maintaining good relations with both Israel and Palestine, India’s participation in this peace process is significant.
What is the Gaza Peace Agreement?
The Gaza region has witnessed prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas, resulting in thousands of deaths and massive destruction. The agreement now aims to formally establish peace between the two sides.
Key Points of Trump’s Plan
Trump has proposed a 20-point plan covering ceasefire, troop withdrawal, release of prisoners, and long-term peace.
Details of the Plan
Both Israel and Hamas must halt fighting. Israel is required to withdraw some forces from Gaza. Prisoners from both sides must be released, ensuring sustained peace in the region.
Hamas’s Objections
Hamas has clearly rejected the plan, calling it “ridiculous.” They insist on keeping their weapons and refusing to leave Gaza, seeing the agreement as disadvantageous.
Israel’s Position
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is not fully confident either. He has certain conditions and wants Hamas to become completely inactive.
Trump’s Expectations
Donald Trump believes this plan is the best way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East. However, several political and security challenges need resolution first.
