Union Minister Suresh Gopi has openly expressed his desire to return to films, saying he wants to continue his acting journey.

While addressing a function in Kannur, the Thrissur MP mentioned that his earnings have drastically reduced after assuming the ministerial position. “I genuinely want to continue acting. My income has now stopped completely; I need to earn more,” he added.
Youngest Party Member Suggests Replacement
Gopi also pointed out that he is the youngest member in his party and recommended that Rajya Sabha MP C Sadanandan Master be considered as his successor in the Union Ministry.
Never Sought Ministerial Role
“I never prayed to become a minister. Even a day before the elections, I told reporters I want to stick with my cinema career,” Gopi said.
Party Journey And Ministerial Appointment
“I joined the party in October 2008. Being the first MP elected by people, the party felt I should be appointed as minister,” explained the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism.

Earlier this year, President Droupadi Murmu nominated BJP veteran from Kannur, C Sadanandan Master, to the Rajya Sabha.

Speaking further at Kannur, Suresh Gopi remarked that many often misinterpret his statements.
Praja Controversy Explained
He clarified that using the term “praja” to refer to people of Thrissur drew unnecessary criticism. Using the example of sanitation workers, earlier called manual scavengers but now sanitation engineers, Gopi said his opponents twisted his usage of words like ‘praja’ and ‘prajatantra’. “What’s wrong with using the word praja?” he questioned.
