Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has strongly objected to China’s claim on Arunachal Pradesh. She asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. She also stated that any contrary claim by China’s Foreign Ministry must be rejected.

She hopes the Indian Foreign Ministry will give a firm and clear response. This response is needed for China’s deliberate provocative action.

‘Clear Violation of India’s Sovereignty’

Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said this claim openly violates India’s territorial sovereignty. It also breaches India’s territorial integrity. China’s action also casts doubt on their intentions to improve relations. These relations have been strained since the Galwan Valley clash.

Arunachal Resident Detained for 18 Hours

MP Priyanka Chaturvedi highlighted the incident from the previous day. The whole of India was outraged by the disclosure on Monday (November 24, 2025). China had detained and tortured an Arunachal Pradesh resident for 18 hours. Chinese officials had invalidated the woman’s passport. She was travelling to Japan via Shanghai from London. Her Indian citizenship was even questioned. Officials told her that Arunachal Pradesh belongs to China, not India.

‘China Must Accept One India Policy’

Priyanka Chaturvedi recalled late former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. Swaraj had met her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in 2014. Wang Yi asked India to follow the ‘One China Policy’. Chaturvedi stressed that China must first accept the ‘One India Policy’.

She further stated that India’s national sovereignty is non-negotiable. Its regional ownership is not subject to discussion or dispute. Any provocative action by China questions its commitment. It raises doubts about China’s desire to improve ties with India.
