Sources reveal that the woman admitted to obtaining the fake documents through a Mumbai-based agent.

In a notable security intervention at the India-Nepal frontier, personnel from the 41st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) intercepted an Indonesian national attempting to cross into Nepal illegally. The individual, identified as Ni Kaden Sisiani from Bali, was apprehended on Thursday evening at the old bridge over the Mechi River at Panitanki, a vital crossing point near Siliguri.
During initial questioning by the SSB border team, Sisiani provided inconsistent details, presenting herself under an alternate name and claiming Indian citizenship. However, a meticulous inspection revealed her genuine Indonesian passport alongside counterfeit Indian identification documents, including a fraudulent Aadhaar card and PAN card.
Sources indicate that the woman confessed to obtaining these forged documents through an agent operating out of Mumbai. Investigations further uncovered that she had been residing in the city for almost ten years, relying on these fake IDs to avoid scrutiny. Authorities also learned that Sisiani had used multiple identities for international travel, frequently moving between Indonesia, Turkey, Nepal, and India.
The SSB has confiscated all forged documents and related evidence. Sisiani has been handed over to the Kharibari police station in Darjeeling district for further investigation and legal action. Her detention highlights the intricate networks of identity fraud and human trafficking that persist across this porous border region.
