At UNHRC, India slammed Pakistan over its failing economy, human rights abuses, and bombing its own people while backing terrorism.

India strongly criticizes Pakistan at UNHRC
India once again exposed Pakistan’s double standards on terrorism at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). During the 60th session in Geneva, Indian diplomat Khitij Tyagi slammed Pakistan for misusing the global platform by issuing provocative remarks against India. Tyagi highlighted that Pakistan continues to indulge in baseless allegations instead of addressing its collapsing economy, decaying politics under military control, and a dismal human rights record. He asserted, “Pakistan must focus on saving its economy on life support, reforming politics suppressed by military dominance, and improving its stained human rights record. But that will only happen when it spares time from sheltering terrorists and bombing its own people.”
India counters Pakistan’s provocative remarks
India accused Pakistan of using the UNHRC to push false propaganda. Tyagi referred to recent air strikes by the Pakistani army in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which reportedly killed at least 30 villagers. By citing this incident, he highlighted Pakistan’s hypocrisy in raising human rights issues abroad while crushing its own citizens at home. Tyagi added, “Instead of focusing on our territory, Pakistan must vacate the illegally occupied Indian land and pay attention to its collapsing economy, flawed politics under army dominance, and human rights violations.”
India’s demand for fair global approach
While addressing the council, Tyagi stressed the importance of neutrality. He said, “The Council must adopt an equal, fair, and unbiased approach. Our efforts should strengthen solidarity and cooperation, not division. We are concerned that selective decisions and orders for certain nations are continuously increasing. This strengthens bias and undermines the true work of this Council.” His remarks reinforced India’s stance that Pakistan’s attempts to malign India at global forums lack credibility and must be countered with facts.
