First Phase of Bihar Election Campaign Ends Today; 1,314 Candidates Await November 6 Voting

Voting Set for 121 Assembly Seats Across 18 Districts

The first phase voting covers 121 Assembly seats. These include 102 general and 19 Scheduled Caste reserved seats. Polling will take place in 18 districts.

Campaign Noise Stops Today

Today marks the final day for the first phase campaigning in the Bihar Assembly Election (2025). The campaign’s loud public noise will stop this evening. Candidates will then have just 24 hours left. This time is for door-to-door appeals with local supporters. Leaders from NDA and Mahagathbandhan will hold many public meetings today. They will urge the public to vote in their favor.

121 Seats Ready for November 6 Voting

Polling for the first phase is scheduled for November 6. All necessary preparations are now complete. A total of 121 Assembly seats across 18 districts will see voting. This phase includes 102 general and 19 SC-reserved seats. The electoral roll lists 3,75,13,302 voters for these 121 seats. The fate of 1,314 candidates will be sealed in the EVMs on November 6.

45,341 Booths Established for Polling

The 1,314 candidates in the first phase include 122 women and 1,192 men. The state has established 45,341 polling booths for this phase. This number includes 45,324 main booths and 17 auxiliary booths. Rural areas have 36,733 booths, while 8,608 booths are in urban areas. Authorities stated that 926 booths will be run by women staff. Additionally, 107 booths will be managed by persons with disabilities. Furthermore, 320 model booths have been set up.

Over 3.75 Crore Voters to Exercise Franchise

A total of 3,75,13,302 voters will cast their votes in the first phase. The male voters total 1,98,35,325. Female voters number 1,76,77,219. The count for Third Gender voters stands at 758. The commission has appointed observers for peaceful elections. This includes 121 general, 18 police, and 33 expenditure observers for the first phase. The second phase voting is scheduled for November 11 on 122 seats. The final election results will be announced on November 14.
