Mass Resignations Hit Gujarat Government
All 16 ministers from the BJP-led Gujarat government have resigned. They submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This significant move followed an important meeting. The meeting took place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the CM’s home. All ministers met with the Chief Minister before submitting their exit papers. The resignations were accepted, but the Chief Minister remains in office.
Resignation Process and Future Steps
The accepted resignations will be delivered to the Governor. All resignation letters were reportedly prepared beforehand. The ministers had already signed their exit documents. No further instructions have been issued regarding this. The cabinet expansion process has now reached its final stage.
Collective Decision and New Cabinet
State BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma resigned first. Subsequently, all other ministers followed suit one by one. Their resignations were handed over to Vishwakarma. He had instructed all ministers to step down. The Chief Minister did not request the ministers’ resignations. They decided to collectively resign at a meeting.
