RJD-Congress Agreement Reached

The rift within Bihar’s opposition coalition, the INDIA Alliance, appears to be ending. Major news is emerging from RJD sources. The RJD and Congress have reached a crucial agreement.

Tejashwi Yadav has been selected as the Chief Ministerial face of the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan). A formal announcement is likely to happen very soon. Consensus has formed within the Mahagathbandhan on Tejashwi Yadav as the CM candidate for Bihar Election 2025.

All coalition parties will officially endorse this decision on Tejashwi’s leadership today. The official announcement of Tejashwi as the CM candidate is also imminent. Furthermore, the Mahagathbandhan will rally under the slogan, ‘Chalo Bihar… Bihar Badlein’ (Let’s Go Bihar… Change Bihar), led by Tejashwi Yadav.

Preparations for the Mahagathbandhan’s press conference are complete. The event will take place at the Maurya Hotel in Patna.

All key leaders from the allied parties will attend. The poster for this press conference prominently features only Tejashwi Yadav’s photograph. No other leader’s picture is printed on the poster. Only the symbols of RJD, Congress, CPI (ML), CPI (M), CPI, and IIIP are displayed.

Agreement Follows Talks with Congress

It is noteworthy that no allied party, including Congress, was happy with the seat distribution within the INDIA Alliance for the Bihar elections. This lack of consensus resulted in the INDIA allies contesting against each other in over 10 seats. This situation also prevented agreement on the Chief Minister’s face.

To resolve this issue, Congress senior leader and Bihar election in-charge Ashok Gehlot met with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday (October 22).

Following this meeting, Ashok Gehlot expressed confidence. He stated that everything was fine within the INDIA Alliance and the situation would soon become clear. This discussion between Congress and RJD is believed to have resolved the allies’ confusion.

All parties subsequently united to decide on Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face. Additionally, it is probable that through this press conference, the Mahagathbandhan allies will withdraw their respective candidates placed against each other.
