Uddhav Thackeray expressed confidence in winning the upcoming Mumbai municipal elections. He strongly criticized the BJP and Eknath Shinde during his speech.

Born for Struggle
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray addressed the Senior Shiv Sainik anniversary ceremony. During the gathering, Thackeray stated he chose the Mashal symbol to burn the “Lanka of lies.” He said he would have chosen the Agarbatti symbol if he wanted to worship Modi and Shah. Thackeray challenged opponents to fight openly in the arena. He emphasized that “Shiv Sena was born for struggle.”
Celebrating Victory
Thackeray recalled corruption allegations regarding Ajit Pawar involving 70,000 crores. He noted that the Prime Minister himself had spoken about it. He also mentioned accusations against Ashok Chavan regarding land meant for martyrs. Thackeray compared the current BJP to an amoeba that wants everything. He said they must burst the balloon of ego and “bathe in the Gulal of victory.”
Democracy in Danger
Thackeray claimed democracy is being destroyed and no opposition is left. He stated that nobody accepts the recent Maharashtra Assembly results. He accused them of stealing votes, parties, and even AB forms. He sarcastically suggested they should “go to Chor Bazaar.” He affirmed that the country will not accept fake democracy. He declared, “We want to win Mumbai and we will win.”
Defending Mumbai
Thackeray asked if BJP leaders have the same love for Mumbai as Shiv Sainiks. He noted they had saved 92,000 crores in deposits. Now, news reports suggest these deposits are being broken. He pointed out a debt of 2.30 lakh crores. He mentioned his grandfather was key in the Samyukta Maharashtra struggle. He asked, “Am I impotent to sit and watch while they tear pieces of Mumbai?”
The Symbol of Mashal
He explained why he chose the Mashal symbol. He reiterated that he wants to burn their Lanka. He mocked Eknath Shinde without naming him, mimicking complaints to Delhi. Thackeray said no one dared challenge them when they were together. He criticized those who left as mere mercenaries.
Call for Open Fight
Thackeray remarked that he thought India would become self-reliant by 2014. However, he observed that the BJP has not become self-reliant yet. He accused them of recruiting people involved in killings, drugs, and corruption. He challenged them to an open fight. He concluded by saying Shiv Sena is never afraid.
