From Oath Day to Full Cabinet
Suvendu Adhikari was sworn in as West Bengal’s Chief Minister on May 9 at a grand ceremony in Kolkata in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP’s central leadership and chief ministers from NDA-governed states.
On that same day, five other BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Nisith Pramanik, Ashok Kirtania and Kshudiram Tudu also took oath as ministers alongside Adhikari. Monday’s cabinet expansion now brings the total ministerial strength to 41 just three short of the constitutionally allowed limit of 44.
The induction of 35 ministers in one sweep is a clear signal the Adhikari government means business and is wasting no time in getting its full administrative team in place.
