Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister staged a sit-in protest outside the jail after being denied access to meet Imran Khan. Claims about the former PM’s health are intensifying amid the growing suspense.

Suspense Deepens Over Imran Khan’s Assassination
Security personnel stopped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. He reached Adiala Jail to meet former Pakistan PM Imran Khan. The incident caused a major commotion outside the jail. This all occurs while social media rumors about Imran Khan’s death have surged. Numerous reports claim his health condition is poor.
Sohail Afridi stated, “I am the Chief Minister of a province’s 40 million people. This is my seventh time coming to meet Imran Khan. Won’t this increase bitterness? Why am I not being allowed to meet Imran Khan?” Pakistan called an emergency National Assembly meeting. It was scheduled for 5:30 PM on Thursday (November 27, 2025). This emergency gathering further heightens the suspense over the claims of Imran Khan’s death.
Sohail Afridi Sits in Protest Outside the Jail
KPK Chief Minister Sohail Afridi confirmed he was refused permission. He could not meet Imran Khan inside the jail. Consequently, he began a sit-in protest right outside the prison. Imran Khan’s party, PTI, governs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sohail Afridi is their sole Chief Minister.
Imran Khan’s supporters have demonstrated outside Adiala Jail for several days. These protests are now spreading to other Pakistani cities. Imran Khan’s family and PTI supporters allege a conspiracy. They accuse PM Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. They claim the two are plotting his assassination in jail.

Police Attack on Imran Khan’s Three Sisters
The three sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan were also denied a meeting. They subsequently started their own sit-in outside Adiala Jail. His sisters, Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr. Uzma Khan, were protesting. They had been outside the jail for a month with other PTI members. During this time, police officers assaulted them. They were brutally beaten by the police. The party questioned if seeking a meeting with Imran Khan was an activist’s crime.
