Mossad Warns of Growing Threat

Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, raised a serious alarm regarding European security. The agency claims the Gaza-based group Hamas established a secret operational structure in several European nations. This structure functions like a spy unit. Its activities increased sharply over the last few months. Mossad stated they helped European agencies stop several planned attacks recently.

Weapons Seized in Joint Raids

Security agencies in Germany and Austria caught several suspects during joint operations. Investigation teams found a large stockpile of weapons at a location in Vienna. This cache included pistols, explosives, and various military-grade items. Probes revealed these items were ready for immediate attacks. The trail leads directly to Mohammad Naim, a figure linked to Hamas.

Mohammad Naim’s Key Role

Mossad’s investigation shows the seized weapons link back to Mohammad Naim. He is the son of Basem Naim, a senior member of the Hamas political bureau. Basem Naim is very close to top Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya in Gaza. Mossad says this entire network operates under the direct supervision of Hamas leaders living abroad.

The Qatar Connection Allegation

The Israeli agency claims top Hamas leaders in Qatar supported these European operations. Mossad pointed to a meeting in Qatar this past September. They said the meeting between Mohammad Naim and his father proves this was an official act. Hamas publicly denies these links. However, intelligence reports continue to connect Qatar to this activity.

Operations Linked to Turkey

According to Mossad, part of this European network also connects to Turkey. Police arrested a man named Burhan Al-Khatib in Germany this November. Authorities accused him of advancing Hamas activities from Turkey for a long time. Turkey remains a key hub for Hamas. European agencies keep a close watch on networks stemming from there.

Crackdown on Terror Funding

European security agencies are now targeting groups suspected of funding Hamas. They also track groups spreading radical ideologies. Charities, foundations, and religious bodies now face strict background checks. Authorities have started monitoring various funding channels in many locations.

Global Expansion Since October 7

Mossad states that Hamas expanded its foreign activities rapidly after the October 7, 2023 attacks. The group focuses on gathering weapons and building logistic support. They are also recruiting new people and creating secret cells. Mossad alleges Hamas is building an international underground network similar to Iran’s strategy.
