Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered his address at the United Nations, highlighting Israeli strikes on Iran, Hezbollah, and Houthis, while firmly rejecting Palestinian statehood.

Netanyahu’s Address at the UNGA
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu completed his address at the United Nations General Assembly. From the global stage, he declared that Palestine would not receive recognition as an independent state. Netanyahu compared the October 7, 2023 Hamas assault to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.
The American delegation present inside the hall applauded his remarks enthusiastically. The United States has long remained Israel’s strongest ally, and once again it reaffirmed its commitment by supporting Netanyahu’s policy approach.
October 7 Attack and 9/11 Comparison
In his statement, Netanyahu drew a direct comparison between the October 7 Hamas attack and the 9/11 terror strike in America. He remarked, “Granting statehood to Palestine just a mile away from Jerusalem after October 7 would be the same as giving statehood to Al-Qaeda just a mile away from New York after 9/11.”
This analogy has repeatedly been emphasized by Netanyahu and his supporters to underline the severity of the threat Israel faces and to remind the global community of its security challenges.

“This is Madness” – Netanyahu
Speaking in a stern tone, Netanyahu called the demand for Palestinian statehood dangerous and unacceptable. He stated, “This is madness, and we will never accept it.” His declaration made it clear that Israel is not prepared for any two-state solution at this point.
With the open backing of the U.S., it has become evident that Palestinian statehood claims will continue to face strong opposition at the international level. Analysts believe this situation could further escalate tensions across the Middle East.
Empty Hall and Applause from Israel’s Delegation
While Netanyahu spoke, much of the UNGA hall was nearly empty, as several country representatives left before his speech began. Despite that, the Israeli delegation responded with loud applause when he revealed that Israel had destroyed hundreds of Hezbollah members’ pagers in Lebanon.
