US President Donald Trump hinted that the pilot involved in the Flydubai emergency, flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv, could have been a terrorist or someone mentally disturbed.

Trump Points To Possible Terror Motive Behind Flydubai Scare

The pilot aboard a Flydubai flight that suffered a mid air emergency while traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv may have been “a terrorist or a psycho,” US President Donald Trump suggested on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said he had discussed the incident extensively with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He stated: “I talked in detail with Bibi about this incident, and it looks like the co pilot may have been a terrorist or a psycho.”

What Happened Aboard The Flydubai Flight

On Wednesday, the Flydubai aircraft heading from Dubai to Tel Aviv sent out a distress signal mid flight. The plane later made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The airline confirmed shortly afterward that an incident had indeed occurred onboard.

Reports soon surfaced claiming that one of the two pilots had stabbed the other with a knife. The attacker reportedly also attempted to crash the aircraft during the ordeal.

Israeli Officials Call It An Attempted Terror Attack

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the episode as an attempted act of terrorism. His comments add weight to growing concerns that the mid air chaos was not an accident but a deliberate assault.

Passengers and crew were left shaken, though the situation did not escalate into a full blown disaster thanks to the emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Authorities on both sides are expected to investigate the motive and background of the pilot involved.

Trump’s remarks come as speculation mounts over whether security protocols at regional airlines need tightening following the alarming incident.
