US President Donald Trump has named Russia’s president and China’s leader as possible future guests at the new White House ballroom.

Trump Highlights Extreme Security Measures

Trump described the ballroom as an exceptionally secure structure built to protect the president and his guests.

“This is the strongest building ever built. It is specially designed to ensure the president’s safety. And if he hosts the president of China, Russia or any other country at dinner, all the guests, whether there are two thousand or two and a half thousand of them, will be completely safe,” Trump said.

The president explained that extra attention went into the armored construction and the glazing of the side walls. These elements were designed to combine maximum security with transparency, he noted.

Major Renovation Reshapes the White House

Since taking office, Trump has carried out a large scale renovation of the White House, adding gold detailing throughout. Antique items from various government departments were brought to the residence after catching the American leader’s eye.

To make room for the new ballroom, Trump partially demolished the East Wing of the White House. This decision sparked plenty of attention when construction began.

Ballroom Project Includes Bunker and Military Facilities

According to Trump, the project goes far beyond a banquet hall. It reportedly includes a bomb shelter, a modern hospital and medical facilities, and highly classified military installations.

The design also features protective structures built to withstand missile strikes. Ceilings and roofs are shielded against drone attacks, and the glazing used throughout is bulletproof.

Trump had earlier claimed the new White House ballroom would even be strong enough to support helicopters landing on its roof.
