The United States will speed up visas for foreign visitors. These visitors must hold tickets for the next FIFA World Cup matches. President Donald Trump made this announcement on Monday. The matches will be held in 11 US cities next year.

Prioritizing World Cup Fans

Washington will implement a new scheduling system. This system prioritizes visa-interview appointments for foreign fans. The World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19. Canada and Mexico will also host some matches.

Trump spoke to reporters in the Oval Office. He said government agencies worked hard. Their goal was to ensure proper vetting of global soccer fans. This will help them “come to the US next summer easily.”

Faster Visa Processing and Economic Boost

The President noted his administration has already sped up visa issuance. The wait time for most countries is now 60 days or less. He projects the World Cup could generate $30 billion. It is also expected to create 200,000 jobs.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted staffing increases. The State Department added 400 consular officers. This move doubled the visa processing presence in some countries. Rubio confirmed, “The US is offering prioritized appointments so fans can complete their visa interviews and show they qualify.”

FIFA Expects Millions of Visitors

FIFA President Gianni Infantino was at the White House. He stated that 5 million to 10 million people would visit the U.S. for the matches.

FIFA reported that over one million tickets are already bought. Fans from 212 countries made these purchases. The football governing body released a statement. It said ticket holders will get more details. Information on the priority visa appointment system will be available in early 2026.
